Winter Weather Advisory

Stay informed: Prepare for adverse winter weather, college closing using updated emergency information

The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for Salisbury/Rowan County and other parts of the state that includes warnings of snow and very cold weather. If there is a need for the college to close or delay opening, the president and college administration will ultimately decide whether or not the school will operate on normal business hours.

NOTE: Department and division heads are encouraged to devise communication plans to notify your staff and faculty members of changes in operating hours due to inclement weather.

To keep abreast of when an administrative decision to close is announced, information can be accessed these ways:

  • Call the Livingstone College Weather Hotline at 704-216-6999. If the outgoing message has not changed by 6 a.m., a decision to close has not been made.
  • Call Campus Security at 704-216-6164.
  • If you have access to a computer, log onto our Web site, www.livingstone.edu
