SALISBURY – Winter commencement exercises typically aren’t as noteworthy as May ceremonies: There are fewer graduates, and the event is overshadowed by the impending Christmas holiday.
But for Livingstone graduate Robin Bailey, the institution’s Dec. 11 commencement couldn’t have been more meaningful.
Bailey, 45, was among the nearly 50 graduates who received degrees during Livingstone’s third annual Winter Commencement, held at 10 a.m. inside Varick Auditorium. Dr. Leonard L. Haynes, III, senior director of Institutional Service Higher Education Programs for the U.S. Department of Education, was the keynote speaker.
