Thomas, Brown, Stinson of Livingstone Earn CIAA Weekly Honors

Hampton, VA – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) honored Mark Thomas, Head Women’s Basketball Coach Angelyne Brown and Head Men’s Coach James Stinson on Monday, February 10. Thomas was deemed Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, Brown was chosen as Women’s Basketball Coach of the Week and Stinson was chosen Men’s Basketball Coach of the Week.

Thomas (Sr., G, Saginaw, MI) averaged 33.5 points per game to lead the Blue Bears to two victories on the week beginning with his 31 point performance over Saint Augustine’s University (93-76) and ending with a sharp-shooting 36-point performance over Shaw University (83-76).

Brown guided the Lady Blue Bears to two straight victories last week including the big road win over the defending CIAA Champions of Shaw University in overtime 83-77.

Stinson guided the Blue Bears to two straight victories last week, holding both St. Augustine’s and Shaw to just 76 points. The Blue Bears have won five-of-six of their last games, losing to Johnson C. Smith University on the road.
