Livingstone College Disability Service

Under the umbrella of the Academic Support/Student Success Center, the Accommodations Counselor supports the Institutional mission to provide excellent Liberal Arts and Religious Education programs for individuals from all ethnic backgrounds. This is accomplished by coordination of services designed to scaffold “abilities” of students with disabilities, as well as by developing their potential for leadership and service in a global community.

The Accommodations Counselor fosters a holistic environment of support and service by ensuring reasonable accommodations, including the following:
Extended time for testing Aided hearing/sight technologies Enlarged print documents Adapted housing arrangements Adapted seating Altered College events Assisted technology tutorials Differentiated instructions
The Accommodations Counselor also serves as an informative, resourceful and referral person for all students to assist them in realizing the benefits of a collegiate environment without regard to “ability.”
