Welcome from the Vice President of Student Affairs

Dr. Stanley Elliott

The Division of Student Affairs is responsible for all aspects of student life on campus. The division is responsible for establishing policies and procedures affecting student life and conduct. While academics provide the mainstay of the College environment, Livingstone College recognizes that the “undergraduate experience” is not restricted to the classroom. Therefore, the College provides students with opportunities to participate in religious, social, cultural, recreational, and athletic activities. Additionally, outstanding artists and lecturers are brought to campus to make presentations. Included in the Division of Student Affairs are Admissions, Financial Aid, Residence Life, Health Services, Student Activities/Smith Anderson Clark Student Center, Campus Ministry, and the Counseling Center.

We have supported and strengthened the learning process by launching a very unique initiative entitled “The Total Learning Environment.” “The Total Learning Environment” is a new holistic approach to academic preparation, whereby a learning environment is designed to modify student behavior. In addition to academic preparation, students at Livingstone College will participate in plethora of activities designed to address any cultural deficiencies, thus enabling them to graduate from Livingstone College with the academic, social and spiritual preparation to compete in a global economy.

Our sole purpose is to create an environment in which students may develop into mature, well rounded citizens, who are self-disciplined and have an appreciation for life long learning. At the end of our student's academic journey at Livingstone College, we trust that our instruction and guidance will positively affect them and generations to come.

We look forward to meeting you “beneath the maples and the oaks.” May God continue to richly bless and keep you.
