Apply as a Transfer Student to Livingstone College

Students wishing to transfer to Livingstone College from another institution must meet the following requirements for admission:

01. A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate is required. The score report of the American College Testing (ACT) program, or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT); and any additional information requested by the Office of Admissions.

02. A final transcript of all high school credits indicating rank in class and date of graduation. Students who have achieved a high school diploma through the General Education Development (GED) test must have the GED score sent.

03. Students must be eligible to return to the institution last attended. They must have attained at least a 2.00 GPA (4.00 system) based on all courses attempted at the last institution attended.

04. Also, they are required to have all transcripts of their previous college or university work forwarded to the Office of Admissions by the registrar of each institution they have attended.

Even though no transfer of credit may be involved, transcripts or records of attendance must certify all previous college or university work. Transfer courses will not be accepted from non-accredited business, trade, vocational or technical schools as well as from other non-accredited institutions unless a prior contractual agreement has been made with Livingstone College.

05.  Any student whose high school class graduated in 1990 or later must have completed the following high school requirements:
  • English 4 course units
  • Mathematics 3 course units including Algebra I, II and Geometry
  • Sciences - 2 course units including at least one unit in life or biological science (i.e. Biology), and at least one unit in a physical science (i.e. Physical Science, Chemistry, or Physics)
  • Social Studies - 2 course units including one unit in U.S. History
  • Foreign Language* 2 course units
The high school requirements listed above may be waived for an applicant who is at least twenty-four (24) years of age, or who has completed an Associate of Arts (AA) or Associate of Science (AS) degree at a regionally accredited institution. The College generally does not accept more than sixty-four (64) credit hours from a junior college or ninety (90) credit hours from a four-year institution.

06. Fill out the Police Record Check Form.

07.  Fill out an online application or Download an Application(which includes the Health and Housing Forms).

08. A non-refundable application fee of $25.00 is required. The College does honor the College Board Application Fee Waiver Form if properly signed. The recommended deadlines for submitting the application for admission is May 1 for the fall semester and December 15 for the spring semester. Applications received after these dates will be honored on a day-to-day basis as long as classroom space is available.

09. Secure your housing deposit. The housing deposit is $200.00. This includes your one time enrollment fee of $100.00 and your $100.00 key fee.
