Q: What degree programs are offered?

A: You have an opportunity to earn a Bachelor's Degree in the following areas:

  • Business Administration
  • Criminal Justice
  • Elementary Education .
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Religious Studies

Q: Are classes offered online?

A: All classes are currently offered in a live format; however, a majority of the classes are Blackboard assisted. It is highly suggested that all students enrolled in Continuing Education courses have access to a computer with high speed internet.

Q: How do students typically balance returning to college with work and family obligations?

A: Our students find Livingstone College to be a nurturing and supportive environment. Classes are small to provide personal attention. Advisement is available throughout the program to support you as you work toward completing your bachelor's degree. The accelerated format of the classes affords students the flexibility of completing course requirements at a faster pace thus lending more time to devote to other responsibilities and commitments.

Q: Who are our faculty?

A: Livingstone faculty functions in the role of learning facilitators. All have advanced degrees with significant experience in their discipline. This provides for a dynamic and interactive seminar-style learning environment. Our faculty understands how to bridge theory and practice to real world situations.

Q: What is the profile of the student enrolled in the Accelerated Bachelor’s?

A: Each student brings a unique combination of credits earned and work experience to the program. The typical profile is 35-40 years of age, with a minimum of one year of college experience.

Q: How can I pay for college?

A: There are a number of options available to make this life transition a financially viable one. Here at Livingstone College, the majority of our students take advantage of Financial Aid (this should be a link to FA), employer tuition assistance and scholarships.

Q: What if I miss a class due to a conflict in schedule? Do I have to makeup the class?

A: If you anticipate missing a class in the accelerated program, we recommend you immediately notify your instructor. It will be up to the instructor to determine what work you may need to complete outside of class to meet the overall course requirements. If you miss more than two class meetings it is recommended that you withdraw from the class or request an Incomplete ("I") grade.

Note: An Incomplete ("I") is assigned by the instructor only when he/she is willing to do so and only under the condition that the student has maintained a passing average and has circumstances beyond his/her control not allowing him/her to complete some specific course requirement. (Refer to Livingstone College Catalog for more information)

Q: How do I get the books I need for each course in the program?

A: Livingstone College provides all students textbooks through a book rental system, thus relieving the financial burden of purchasing expensive textbooks each semester. The rental fee is included in the student's tuition and fees. Students are required to return all textbooks to the College Bookstore at the end of each semester. Students failing to return books will be charged full price.
